Mattie Jackson | In-Joy Life
Mattie Jackson is not only Alan Jackson's daughter, she is one of the most inspirational women that I have had the pleasure of interviewing. As Mattie talks about her book, Lemons on Friday, she talks about the vulnerability of losing her husband, being a young widow, and walking with God through it all.
Mattie talks through the struggles, the battles, the valleys, and brings her heartache to the light, through communication, and sharing her story. In the Midst of grief and loss, Mattie talks about the hard questions, and finding her way through, only with God. Lemons on Friday is truly an encouraging book to read, but most of all the author is authentic, vulnerable, and real about her journey.
Mattie says, "I am here to walk with all those who have lost husbands, lost love, lost hope, lost anything. I am here to encourage you – be honest about your pain at the same time you trust in the Lord to heal what seems unhealable. I am here to share stories of women facing all kinds of sorrow and celebration in this messy life; from loss to gain, from struggle to success. We all have a story, and very likely, one that if it were shared, could help turn someone else’s story from broken to beautiful."
