Tibba Smith | All Around Cowgirl
Tibba Smith came from a ranching family from Hobbs, New Mexico. Tibba has always been around horses, and the cowboy way of life with her family, and her roots run deep. From a young age with her two sisters, Tibba has had a rope in her hand as long as she can remember. From roping on the ranch, to breakaway roping, and team roping, Tibba just loves to be around everything in the western way of life.
Not only is Tibba a full time roper, and a mom to Shane Smith, she also has two full time jobs. Tibba is the Southwest Region Rodeo Secretary, as well as an insurance adjuster as well. Tibba talks about how she is working to financially make it all work for her, her son, and to make all of her dreams come true!
Tibba and I talk about her past year, and one of her major highlights as the Rope Futurities of American Breakaway Roping Slot Champion. She explains the RFA format, and talks about her experience riding a 4 year old that has never been competed on, and roping strong calves with a long start. We also discuss horsemanship, and what it looks like sharing her good horse with her son Shane, and making it all come together at the end of the day!
